Lisa Gastelum – The Queen Bead Designs

Lisa is self-taught in the art of making beaded beads and has been making them for about 12 years. Each bead she creates is hand-woven in the traditional gourd stitch, and contains anywhere from 50-500 individual beads. It takes about 15 minutes to 5 hours to make a bead, depending on the size, shape, pattern and texture. Each bead has a wooden core and the woven beads conform to the shape.

Lisa loves to experiment with color, design and construction in order to create jewelry that is beautiful, tactile, and gives the owner a greater appreciation of bead work.
